Recently a friend expressed interest in a piece of furniture
at our house. I jokingly said: catch me
during a slow month and it might just be yours 🙂 Actually, that’s not
entirely out of the question.
I know many of you enjoy decorating, redecorating and / or are members of the design trade. You can relate here as we’ve all sold furniture
out of our homes to friends and clients. But being shop keepers, this kind of stuff happens
pretty regularly for us. For example, we’ve
had two dining tables and four sets of chairs in the last five years. Not because we’re picky….just the nature of
the biz.

Some comments I’ve received from household members:
~ What did you sell now?
~ But we
have guests this weekend. What are we going to sit on? Me: let’s take them out 🙂

~ Wait, you just had those chairs reupholstered!
Come with me down memory lane . . .
Dining room in our former home – above photo by Erik Johnson, courtesy Traditional Home.
Sold the set of 6 Swedish Rococo style chairs.
Goodbye Rococo chairs. Hello Gustavian chairs!
Sold Gustavian chairs and English pedestal table. Ate in kitchen of former home on Ikea wicker chairs (comfy). The round table under the linen cloth is also from Ikea.
A different table along with 6 Swedish armchairs for the current house. Pardon the tattered upholstery. Above photo by Gordon Beall, courtesy of Washington Post.
Tattered armchairs replaced by set of 12 chairs (back to Rococo style).
Had a sofa in the the window but it didn’t work. Brought in statue (a bit damaged and that’s not mold…it’s moss 🙂 He’s too heavy to move so he’s staying for a while.
Friend Lori needed painted chairs for her steel breakfast table. I don’t need 12 chairs…here’s 2 from our house. 10 left if anyone is interested—just kidding. I love our chairs and they are not for sale (at the moment).
Loi, you could write a book on the changing cast of furniture in your house! I would love to be a shopkeeper who could constantly change up the art and furniture in my house. My husband likes things to stay the same for years if at all possible (he recently said that he likes for something to stay in place at least 10 years).
I like the rococo style chairs the best – glad you are back to them!
Have a great weekend-
Holly
Fantastic idea Loi in the spirit of change! Love ALL the chairs, (chair-woman!), the Ikea ones ARE comfy, I had a couple:-). My favourite? the Swedish armchairs, tatty upholstery fine, characterful!
xoxo
Wishing you a relaxing weekend!
Fiona
Ha ha – that's priceless! My husband thinks that he has it bad – at least all he has to contend with is me shifting things from one room to another. I shall point him in the direction of this post the next time he 'turns the air blue' after attempting to put a cup of coffee down on a wooden pedestal table that has turned into a tufted ottoman 6 inches lower!

p.s.Your home, in each and every guise is absolutely breathtaking as always.
Great idea. This color in decoration is my favorite
saludos from Chile
Every variation is beautiful, Loi. I love blue fabric on the chair in the last photo! It's always a pleasure to see changes you've made to your home (and shop). I know you'll keep us posted on any other changes–can't wait! Happy Weekend!
Deborah
never a boring day at your house. I want it all…wish I could wrap up every room
You make me wish I was a shopkeeper! I would love to change things at home more often, but can't always justify it. Love all the chairs and tables that have been in your life. x Sharon
Oh how fun to switch such lovely things around like that! All your chairs look beautiful in your home.
I must confess though…that I love Lori's steel breakfast table and your chair with it….maybe it's the touch of blue or the contrast of the industrial and the elegant. 🙂
Thanks, Laura. Lori was kind enough to share the fabric info below. See her comments. Loi
How interesting. I would find it quite hard to part with mine, I have to confess, although there are 10 of them, 2 remained in storage in Scotland, and I'm glad, because there wouldn't have been room here.
It never ceases to amaze me how one item can change the whole look of a room. All beautiful choices of course. Love the statue!!! I have a statue that was a Christmas present but never made it to the garden this summer because we go too tired moving it just in the house!…always next year:)xob
All of the chairs look wonderful, but the ones you have now are my favorite! I would love to be able to change out my chairs all the time, but I think it would drive my hubby crazy. I'll bet you won't keep that amazing statue forever because someone is going to want to snatch it out of your house. Of course by snatch I mean hire a dozen burly moving men. 😉 The damage on the piece ony makes it that much more wonderful!
What a fun post! It gave me an excuse to view your beautiful home some more as well as see the different styles, etc! I need to do that more often! People think i do that all of the time but I usually don't change anything for years! There are several pieces I've decided I'm will to part with now so maybe now is better than never! Thanks for your sweet comments about the Open House! It was great but I'm glad it's over! I can hardly move today! By the way, I am like Holly and like the Rococo style chairs the best as well! Everything was beautiful! Don't sell that statue!!
I didn't notice the vaulted ceiling in your dining room when I visited – I think the statue makes all the difference. Love it and the new chairs. The fabric on your former chairs in Lori's house is so beautiful. Hope you have a great weekend – they tell us it's going to be sunny.
Michele – Lori provided the fabric info / name below. Loi
amazing as always! That statue is to die for! When's lunch?
I'm envious. I'd forever be moving things back and forth.
I love Lori's steel table with that delicate bouillotte. If she ever gets tired of those…
Dear Loi – I would love to do that, and do from time to time have a bit of a change – different floor coverings, bed linen etc. They say a change is as good as a rest. I am far too attached to some of my furniture, but some I would gladly change. However, do not think husband would feel the same somehow.
Loi, I love all the combos, but what I love about them all is the dark wood tables with the painted Swedish chairs! I have the same pairing in the beach house – a dark walnut turned leg table and simple painted Swedish chairs with Bennison roses mono grey/blue chair cushions. This past summer I thought often that you'd approve! Now if only I could get my hydrangeas to dry!
Hi, Loi – My favorites were the first set of Gustavian chairs, though they wouldn't have stood up well at my house with white upholstery!! :o)
Loi, you are someone I can appreciate and fully understand. Love how your rooms evolve. Nothing stays the same. So much fun and exciting being flexible! All the pieces look great before and after the changes! I just hope you wait until dinner is over before you sell and move out the chairs!
LOVE LOVE THAT GREAT STATUE!!!
Hello Loi,
What a fun and beautiful post! All of the phases of your dining room are lovely– I can imagine how warm and elegant it must be full of friends in the evening by candlelight.
Thanks and best regards,
Erika
Every angle of your home is picture perfect Mr Loi, I scour your posts looking for a pin out of place, a reflection of a pile of paperwork or a washing basket full of socks but nada!
I love the statue and would very much like to see a delicate herbal wreath adorning his head this Yuletide……in the hope that a tiny leaflet would float to the floor so I could say "gotcha" but alas I don't think I'll ever see that day in your beautiful home. Tootle-pip!
A man after my own heart. Janet always says -"that if it isn't nailed down it is for sale". How fabulous to have something that will work in some one else's home + have a wonderful weekend. Grand post. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Loi, loved it before and love the new changes now. Your home has evolved into a place of beauty and your creativity shows through out. I'm looking for new chairs for my dinning room also.
Loi you are so funny! You crack me up! Just when I think it couldn't get any prettier! You're amazing. I move furniture around but it stays forever, but I can relate with paintings! Why is our mantel bare, hahaha. I love your statue in the window. So thrilled to see more of your beautiful home! :)) xo Robin
I'm in love with your rooms and your style! All of the chairs and tables look amazing in these surroundings. The mossy statue is a keeper!!

That is so funny. I have been wanting to sell my two Brno chairs and just get rid of the chairs in the kitchen for a few months. I wish I was back in the decorating biz so that I could unload them with more ease. I would switch out pieces at least once a year. Every one of your choices was wonderful.
Such beautiful rooms. I love the idea of changing things around on occasion.
Thank you for an inspiring post, as usual.
Lisa in Charlottesville
That statue is absolutely divine!!!LUV IT!! franki
I like the idea of getting to change your furniture so often, it keeps things interesting, and each iteration looked FABULOUS! So I would say, trust your instincts and keep what you want and change it when if feels right…
Have a wonderful weekend,
Liz
I loved this post Loi, so fun to see the comings and goings of your chairs. I am that way with lamps. I never met a lamp I did not like, lol. I am in love with the statue, what a beauty and with moss, perfection,
Kathysue
Greetings from Wisconsin! Its all so sublime, Loi! It all looks like it should be in a magazine. Hey,it WAS all in a magazine! :] And its also a testament to how versatile the Swedish painted chairs are. I have four painted oval caned back chairs that I don't know if they are Swedish or not, but I love them and would have a great deal of difficulty parting with them. The seats which are quite round were an absolute wreck, so I had my upholsterer make these wonderful seats with a demi-box pleated skirt in a grey and copper silk damask. I'll have to take some photos of them with my Swedish-ized (painted) Chippendale-esque book case. xo ~ Laurel
That's it Loi 🙂 Keep everyone on their toes! What a beautiful home you have and each time you made a change it worked perfectly. I love the blue and white upholstery and your drapes are gorgeous!!
Have a nice weekend!
leslie
Great post, Loi! I love switching things around and a certain someone here doesn't necessarily get it – or particularly enjoy moving furniture. Of course, if I had unlimited access to your inventory it would be never ending.
xo,
Phyllis
I enjoyed this post, Loi. So happy to learn that I am not the only one that sells half of what I own, lol. I really love your taste, friend, so I understand others wanting to own these pieces. Lucky them.
Happy Friday.
Teresa
xoxo
You are the best kind of friend, Loi!
My best friend lives next door and I send things over that I'm not using all the time.
I wish she had room for more. LOL
You have beautiful chairs, no matter where they sit.
Have a great weekend and hugs to the puppies~
Tina
Loi,
I can look over and over to this post!!! Oh my, what a gorgeous chairs!! And I really have to say that I LOVE your dining room! Everything in it! The chimney piece, the curtains, that statue!!! Oh dear, I am draeming away!! One day I will redecorate my dining room in the Swedish style and I will browse the file of the pictures of your home!!
Thanks for this gorgeous post!
Happy weekend!!
xx

Dear Loi, I think every single look you have had is beautiful! So funny about selling things right from under everyone! I can truly relate….when.i had my shop, I would drive around in my car with things that were supposed to go home with me that never did make it there….my staff would laugh, knowing they would end up back in for a customer!
That's what it's all about, pleasing customers….I really love the last photo, beautiful fabric…and the chair ….N.xo
Very funny, Loi, but the truth is you remind me of my sister. One never knows from one day to the next what her house will look like.
I, on the other hand, am very predictable. When I like something it sits in the same place for a very long time.
There is room in this world for us all.
Hugs to you!
Loi it is really perfect, unless you love something you really, really love.
Your home could be a show-house after all! Plus being in the biz you are always finding great pieces.
Love the angel/cherub I need her to watch after me right now!

Loi,
I loved seeing all the different chairs..how lucky to be able to change them up frequently…and each set as nice as the ones before! I of course am IN LOVE with that stunning cherub statue!! I have a thing for cherubs / putti & just purchased two from 1st Dibs. Have a wonderful weekend
Heidi
Loi,
I give those chairs another month in your dining room…max. Especially now that the whole design blogosphere knows about them. Anyway, the fabric on the chair in the last photo is from the Rosa Bernal Collection at Claremont in NYC. I love that collection as well as the Penny Morrison collection and all of the Claremont fabrics.
xo Lori
Thanks for the info, Lori! Your chair fabric from Claremont is a big hit 🙂
Loi, this is exactly the way I live except, mine isn't as well curated as yours. Right now I don't have art over my buffet in my dining room because it was sold! Since I don't have a shop and am picky will have to wait for right piece or go buy a canvas and do a temporary fix which might happen tomorrow!
I love receiving your updates….love your style. We're about to mix-up our living room as we'll and I am about to have our floors refinished. I love that bleached look you have in the dining room. Are those pickled or bleached or ?????
Hi BQB – Our floors were sanded, bleached, stained white and sealed. Loi
Loi I love how you are so comfortable with this! I tend to become so attached…although I am at a standstill right now on most pieces in my home! Your dining area looks great no matter what style or period you are furnishing with. And the angel…..bringing the garden indoors…you have stolen my heart 🙂
The light in your house is amazing! Your colour palette enhances it further. I coveted whitened oak floors throughout my house but everyone convinced me it was sacrilege to change the colour of expensive hardwoods. Seeing how exquisite your floors look, I wish I had not been dissuaded! I could easily start up a shop with the "excess" in my house but on each visit to your blog I feel a step closer to decluttering as I covet the beautiful serenity in your home – thank you for that!
Thanks, Caspar! Just want to say white oak bleaches better than red oak (which can appear pinkish). Loi
Bela decoração…Espectacular….

I love the mix of English or American table with the Swedish chairs. Favorite chairs: baroque set of six. Fun post and I'm in complete agreement.
Mary
I completely understand your comment and my husband would probably tell you that he lives it daily.
He never knows what will be in the house when he comes in at night.
Beautiful arrangements, and I have no doubt that whatever comes in after these will be just a incredible.
Have a good weekend.
Simone
Everything is so pretty, Loi. My favorite shot is of the round linen-covered table (love the glass top) and whicker chairs. That huge clock on the wall is fantastic.
Claudia
Oh Loi, you are singing my song! "Four chairs in, six chairs out lala lala la"
All of your past and present dining sets are perfect. I would love to have got my hands (and my staple gun) on the Swedish armchairs and spruced up that upholstery for you (and at my fee of $20 per chair I think you would have liked that too 🙂 )
Ange x
I love your version of musical chairs, and you are definitely playing my tune will all of those beautiful pieces! I wouldn't want to buy just your table and chairs, I would want to buy your whole house…lock, stock, and barrel!
Have a wonderful weekend!
xo Kat
It's nice to not be attached to things too much – and you DO have lovely photos!
It would be hard to pick a favorite…but I really love the Gustavian style…elegant without a hint of fussiness! Always a pleasure to visit!
-Revi
Loi– I'm just chillin' after a day with sis and mom. lol. Reading through all of the comments. So, really now. WHEN are you going to write a book? I'm really not kidding! (no pressure. haha) We want to know it all! How to get the look just right and how DO you get your floors to look like that? have to say they kinda makes me (the really good kind of nuts. haha.)
I have to agree with Laurel. A book would be the logical next project. You have me captivated with your blog. I would definitely read your book. I love the photos in this post. That cherub statue is awesome. I didn't realize you sold the stuff in your house. I am going to pay even "better" attention now that I know for the right price, I might be able to get a signed piece…LOL. You're as awesome as ever. Thanks for sharing. I'll keep my eyes posted for your book release! xxooxx
Loi,
What a wonderful way to "experience" the greatness of design as a quick change artist. As I tell my husband that what gets sold means we are now "open to more good" and it alwys being a nod…yes and a smile. Happens often which means you present it well and entice the great art of interior design and that it is welcome to everyone to take home. Wow…awsome a cherub (baby angel) watching over you and your lovely home…that's powerful Loi.
Happy weekend to you.
Bette
What a great post Loi…those of us that have been there..totally understand…so funny…
We have had our dining chairs since before we were married, too may years ago now for me to contemplate, and they were third hand then! Your chairs are fabulous Loi, in every combination. I love to change things around and have a 'play', one of life's great delights.
Hello Loi, It seems to me that your cupid is aiming at one particular chair–your dinner parties must be interesting. All All of the furniture carries your special trademark, but I think I prefer the Gustavian and "tattered upholstery" chairs. Perhaps their rectangular shapes make them seem more sturdy and comfortable for dining chairs.
–Road to Parnassus
Good Morning Loi!! It is amazing how changing chairs creates a whole new look! i loved them all!! xo Leslie
Good eye Parnassus! Is Cupid suggesting something? 🙂 Loi, I love those arm chairs, they look very comfortable and supportive for lingering at dinner. I think the most fun part about your business is getting to experiment! I bought a set of eight quality stacking chiavari chairs when we first married and since I'm a hoarder they'll probably stick with me for life! But honestly, they've been great for moving and fitting different spaces plus every night feels like a party. Now if only I could get every weeknight dinner catered, ha! xo
Oh my…I didn't see a look I didn't love! Amazing. And IKEA, has never looked SO beautiful! Your homes and chairs are really something special Loi. (Sigh) When you have that decor book tour…please stop in Seattle!!
Adore the statue. Will it be decked for the holidays? xxo Monica
Thanks, Monica! I'll be looking for a wreath for the cherub 🙂
Hi Loi,
So I see I'm not the only one with a chair fetish! I love the swedish armchairs…tattered upholstery and all. I'm always dragging chairs home that have great bones, but need a makeover….I don't have any room left so a few are now in storage:).
I've been away from our blog world for several weeks, crazy busy at work, crazy busy at home, and a software bug causing all kinds of problems with downloading photos, urghhh. Anyway, should have a post and be back tomorrow with some cool photos. Hope you are well and having a great weekend!
Take care,
Sarah
Great story, Loi!
All of the chairs are beautiful, but I do believe I like the latest ones the best.
Of course, I'm sure I'll love the next ones too 🙂
xo
Brooke
Dear Loi,
Your post made me smile.
Then I looked around our apartment – Could I sell any of our things? Some I could but others I just couldn't!!
I liked the chairs (particularly those Gustavian ones) although the wicker IKEA ones made me wince. I just can't take to wicker furniture. Were they really comfy?
Kirk
Kirk – Yes, they are comfy (and reasonably priced). I have a set of 6 which I use as extra seating. Loi
Loi, your home is beautiful and timeless! You have great style so I'm sure whatever changes you continue to make in the future, big or small, will be amazing.
Hi Loi,
What a wonderful mini lesson on period chairs! Although they are all equally elegant, I have to say that, for me, the Ikea wicker chairs partnered with the window seat, the grand, iron wall clock and the hanging lamp all nestled together make a cozy and inviting nook in the softness of that light streaming in! Thanks for sharing!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Poppy
Beautiful post Loi, I love every new look in your dinning room butI think that the last chairs are fabulous.
Have a lovely autumn weekend, here in Madrid were are a beautiful autumn time
Cecilia
Loi,
I story that made me smile, I love the idea of changing things up, but I do not know if I could change things that frequently.
I LOVE the tattered chairs, wherever did they end up?
I also love that you decorate with both hi and low, the breakfast area looks beautiful. I would never have known it was IKEA.
That angel! Wow such a beautiful piece I hope it stays.
Have a wonderful weekend, Elizabeth
That is so funny Loi, but of course you are right, everything is for sale!

Yes as a designer from Bay Area Nothern Ca. Relocated Southern Ca. Spending much needed time in the show rooms for designers, I find a passion for vintage, cast offs, and salvaged pieces, with that being said rotating pieces common ground when one designs, pieces come and go often. For now I am also happy with the vibe my own home has, but…..I am looking for painted chairs or those to die for ones that I don't mind painting adding the right kind of rightness to them with distressed history.
Thank you loi for making a visit to my place, it's always inspiring to follow fellow designers.
Ps…. Love the statue that sits in it rightful place honoring the light that cast upon it, placing it in a soulful place of rest.
Fondly,

hahaha… I totally understand but my husband doesn't. He gets so tired of me rearranging and rearranging. I was giggling while reading this post – the moss comment! You're blog makes my happy!! Thanks for sharing your brilliance!

Hi Loi, I am always last at the party. Haha. I read your posts immediately on my iphone but never get over to leave a proper comment (I hate typing on the iphone…it cramps my neck). I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the photos of your rooms in transition. I must say I am very fond of the Gustavian chairs with the straighter lines. What I love most is your airy, light-filled house. I could live in a shoe box as long as it was light and airy! I hope to see your home in person some day. Now, forget what is for sale…if you have anything to give away, do call. 😀
P.S. Check out Part II of my Paris post. Blogger cut me off, so I didn't produce quite the lovely post I had planned. I think I will need more chapters.
Hope you are well and good.
xo Terri
Your dining room is gorgeous.
This is too funny, Loi. I realy enjoyed being able to go back in time and watch the evolution of your dining room. Seems like you better look quick at these chairs, or they might be sold!! But all the differnt looks you came up with are beautiful. What fun to play around with different colors and styles.
I wish I lived close enough to 'shop your house'.
I'm glad you were able to get my link fixed on your site….I would surely miss you stopping by
The Dressed up Cottage.
Have a great week.
You have the best of both worlds! Cause if you are in the design business……who doesn't love change! AND the fact you have some Ikea in your pad is killing me!!! Love:)
Hi Loi,
I can relate!!!
We sell pieces from our home to clients all the time. Clients and friends come over for a meal… and end up loading up the flat wall cupboard!
We often say " did you come for dinner or to shop the house?"
Love this post!
Cheers,
Cynthia
Good Monday morning Loi-
Did you know I'm having coffee with you this morning? I thought this would be a lovely, quiet, calm place to begin my week and I was correct. I'm enjoying a second cup now as I've enjoyed traveling through many of your previous posts and have come to several conclusions. 1. Route 1 along the coast of Maine just might be as beautiful as route 1 along the Pacific coast. 2. My love of white houses might find me restoring a beautiful salt box someday. And 3., I must bring my weather vane indoors!
I could spend all morning at Tone on Tone!
Have a wonderful day Loi.
Best,
Lisa
We need you to vacation in Beaufort,NC so you can work a little magic when we get to the decorating part of the beach house. I am obsessed with your new chairs (loved the old too), and the best part is that it made me realize that I could use beautiful Swedish chairs with my traditional pedestal dining table. Thanks for the GORGEOUS Monday morning inspiration!!
Hi Loi,
Your house looks divine – but then we expect nothing less.
I think finding 'new' must be a perk of your job. I would find it hard to stick with one thing, with stock coming in all the time.
Love looking at pics of your home.
Hope you have a lovely week,
Liz x
you are so funny! I'm totally coming shopping at your house next time I need some chairs 🙂
The trick is to name the item you don't want to part with. No, it's simply not possible for me to part with Lady Victoria, I've told several of my friends.. 🙂
Hi dear one. I love all those chairs and your room transformations! As Ive said, with good taste you can pull off anything, and your more than excel at that. Hope you have a good week. Thanks for the comments.

Tutto molto bello, complimenti!! buona serata…ciao
All of your tables and chairs have been lovely which of course is no surprise!
I'm lovin'me that cherub statue. For sale, Sunshine?
I love the armchair ones! And the current ones. You have a very distinct style, which is a good thing! x
ahh, loi. such a delicious treat here, as always. I enjoyed this piece perhaps most of all. as a former dealer of vintage and antique items, I always say that I have a revolving front door. I love living like that and am sure you do too. each and every combination you have shown is lovely and I am amazed at how well you can pair the dark tables with the lighter chairs. do you think the light floor helps with that? regardless of the pairings, yours are always beautiful. thank you for blogging your personal spaces. can't tell you enough how wonderful they are and how much we learn from them. donna
Too funny!
But alas, life is short and it is fun to play musical chairs 🙂
I love the new look, very classic and of course gorgeous as everything else in your home!
Thanks for sharing!!
XO Karolyn
Hello Loi:
Gosh musical chairs and tables it is at your house, but, in every combination, it all works together so beautifully. It seems to us that although the individual pieces may come and go there is a rigour to your decoration style that is all pervading. Hence, it all comes seamlessly together with that marvellously comfortable feeling that everything is where it should be and always has been.Perfect!
In our house, things just come and although the policy [unwritten and unsaid] is that as something comes in something must go, it never does. Some would call this cluttered English country house style…well, we would, certainly!!!!In this decorating style, tattered upholstery needs never to be apologised for, indeed it is to be encouraged and welcomed!!!
Loi,
I have trouble with my ipad leaving comments so maybe I already have…just want to say I loved playing musical chairs, one of my all time favorite games, especially with YOURS!
thanks for your friendship!
Loi! I am barely able to type I am laughing so much! SO funny! :0 Yeah, I've done this too! With my husband saying "what are we going to sit on????". Hilarious! During a slow month, my husband says if he stays still long enough I'll either sell him or paint him!!!! Oh dear . . . Glad your angel is too heavy to move, I like her! This is the funniest post I've read in ages. A friend of ours walking in to our hallway the other day remarked that it looked like a posh Doctor's reception area!!!! I just had a delivery of 20 upholstered chairs and they were all in a row in the hall, I had no space in the shop. Niall wasn't happy- he thought Darcy might eat them!
Love looking at all your different photos – musical chairs and tables indeed – all gorgeous as always. I needed a good laugh as its been all work, work, work. Thanks Loi – I needed that.
Much love,
Sharon
xxxx
Loi, there's not a look here I don't like…but those Gustavian chairs…oh my.
They have to be my fave. So elegant, so regal-love that look.
I can't wait to move-when I mention to hubby that I think we should sell everything decor wise and start anew, it makes him twitch, LOL
I love that every look is a GOOD look! I've been known to sell things right out of my house. Once I had a pair of zinc top tables with sweet, metal rosettes. One of my card clients loved them so much that I let her have one at cost. Kinda wishing I had the pair years later, but I love knowing how happy she is to have one. I've had a few "shop my house" sales over the years, but not sure I could keep a real shop. My house would be a revolving door of stuff because I'd use the excuse, "I can always sell it!" 🙂 Dreaming of a barn sale in the Spring!
Happy day to you!
Linsey
Loi,
I hope you have a great weekend! Hope you were able to stock up on a few things this morning before the Safeway ran out. When I lived and worked in D.C it was always like that. Crazy.
I am off to the store myself, I hope it is a little better here.
Be safe, Elizabeth
Loi,
That actually seems like a great way to try out different styles. As a Gemini, I am always changing my mind. Though, it's funny. I've had the same dining chairs for 10 years and I still adore them. Now….as far as everything else in our home. Up for grabs! 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend and hopefully this big nasty storm heading our way will miss you and us!
xoxo Elizabeth
Hi Loi,
I really had to smile when I read your post, I regonize this so much. Sometimes my husband tries to grap a chair and the chair has been sold in my webshop or I changed it with another one.. Thereare so many beautiful antique chairs out there and allways looking for good patina..
I love all your styles and the diffrent dining chiars are just stunning and breathtaking.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
xoxo Rozmeen
oooh the gustavian are to die for! they are gorgeous! i am new to your blog and so excited to see we are practically neighbors! i am in the frederick area. look forward to reading more!
Parabéns pelo belo presente e pela sorte. Adore suas flores estão sempre lindas. Agora estou dando um carinho para minhas plantas, nessa época as plantas aqui começam a florescer.
Obrigada pelas carinhosas visitas.
Tenha uma ótima semana.
You are an inspiration, Loi – how you are able to part with furnishings that look and feel so good in your home. There must be some joy in letting go, but I keep hanging on to my furniture and antiques that are like old friends. Is there joy in new ones? If there is, you have surely found it.

Hi,
I've been following you on Pinterest but I just discovered your blog – just beautiful! Could you tell me where you got the pendant light hanging over your old Ikea kitchen table?
Thanks,
Lori
I had this chair that I was going to redo and instead of redoing it I gave it to my friend. He ended up redoing it and he did a way better job. Sometimes it's better to give then to receive.
