On a grocery run with my mother in the early 1990s, I picked up something to read while we were waiting in line at the checkout. That something was Martha Stewart Living, and that particular issue most likely showcased a collection of gleaming ironstone, homespun linens, or vintage finds scored at tag sales. I couldn’t stop leafing through the magazine, so mom bought it.
After reading it from cover to cover, the beautiful images stayed with me. I knew I had to subscribe. Soon Martha would be my teacher for all things domestic and divine. I’d reorganize my closet according to Martha. I’d track down Guy Wolff’s white terracotta pots after seeing her topiaries in them. In fact, I wholeheartedly blame my myrtle topiary obsession on Martha!
The magazine has always been about more than decorating. From recipes to crafts, the articles teach and inform. For nearly 25 years, MSL has inspired me to create, cultivate and collect. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce our home is featured in the February 2016 issue of Martha Stewart Living!
Of course I need to acknowledge some very special people. I’m grateful to photographer Helen Norman for introducing me to the editors at MSL. Without my good friend Helen or her brilliant photos, this would not have been possible. Speaking of editors, I am thankful to the talented Lorna Aragon, MSL Home Editor, for producing our story with such care. Lorna’s effortless styling made everything so beautiful. Thanks also to Ayesha Patel, MSL Design Director, for championing our project from the start.
And, many thanks to Martha Stewart Living for such an incredible honor.

What an honor for you! I, too, am a lover of all things Martha Stewart, always appreciative of her showing us the smallest of details from using a bone folder on paper to making stock from simmering vegetables. Years back, I recorded all her t.v. shows on VHS and watched them on weekends to catch up and learn from her. I will look for this issue.
That is such exciting news Loi, I am so thrilled for you! Your house is truly stunning, and not only that, it is the perfect aesthetic for MSL. I am not at all surprised to hear that you have always loved that magazine, as so have I. The visuals are perfection, which is why your home fits in perfectly!
Heartfelt congratulations to you!
Best,
Sheila

I can't wait to get my hands on it!! Your home is spectacular – congrats
Hello Loi,
Congratulations and well deserved. I am sure MSL is thrilled to have your beautiful home featured.
When you spoke of the first time you picked up a MSL Magazine, the expression "be careful what you wish for came to mind"
Well done and I shall pick up my copy tomorrow.
Helen xx
I am so proud of you, Loi! Your home could not be more perfect for the pages of MSL.
I consider Martha Stewart to be the favorite teacher of my life. When we were raising our kids and they became school age, I counted the minutes until her original show was aired each morning and sat down to devour each minute, it all was just so delicious and I soaked its all up! I was so upset when the show came to a halt after her conviction. The newer talk show that followed was never the same.
When I discovered your blog in your early days, it was another delicious discovery! Your aesthetic is unparalleled. I am excited to head out and find your home in the pages of MSL magazine today!
Best wishes to you, Tom, Panda and Mocha!
Dear Loi, Congratulations! I cannot imagine a more gorgeous home to grace the pages of Martha Stewart Living!!
These images are breathtakingly beautiful!

Loi, Your aesthetic is perfect for MSL, and as is so often the case, you have surpassed your teacher in many ways.
Congrats, Loi! Next trip to the store I will pick up a copy.
Loi,
MSL magazine arrived last week and had been sitting in its plastic on my countertop until I could relax amd enjoy it. Seeing your post I flew and opened the issue and was wowed by your feature. Your sophiscated aesthetic is always beautiful and now you've graced the pages of MSL.
Congratulations Loi truly beautiful photos.
xo,
Vera
Loi this is so exciting and I'll be out shopping for my copy tomorrow! It may be one of the only magazines I keep forever – along with my UK Country Living – the others don't really interest me anymore. I recall that Tom was at home washing the windows in readiness for the MSL crew arrival when we visited with you at the shop last Spring – and I didn't breathe a word to anyone, cross my heart!
Looking forward to seeing more beautiful parts of your home – perhaps they'll be photographing in Castine some day too – that would be awesome.
Congratulations – bet the windows are still sparkling, haha!
Hugs – Mary (and Bob)
Loi, this is a "good thing"! I can't wait to see the full feature, because as usual, your surroundings are so aesthetically pleasing. A well deserved feather in your cap!
I bought 2 copies Loi….one to flip thru and read over and over again and one for your "autograph"…. I am so very excited for you. An honor so well deserved….a true standing ovation!!!….You are the best!
Hello Loi!… how wonderful! I have already read through the article and it's so great! Your Myrtle topiaries are simply incredible!… I cannot believe how they grow and stay looking so healthy in those small pots!… Please would you write a post on how you care for them to help all of us out here who would love to do the same.. ! Always love your posts! Jenny xxx

Loi I was flicking through an online copy of MSL and thought "I recognise that house"… and then found it was indeed yours! I can't even imagine how proud and excited you must feel (and justifiably so). Congratulations a hundred times over, your house and beautiful collections looked stunning.
Wonderful! I recognize the green desk from (I Think) a very old issue of Traditional Home. It is still a favorite. Something about it speaks to me. Your style is so relaxing, comfortable and filled with grand style all at the same time. Wonderful to see your home published again.
Soooooo happy for you friend! and SOOO happy to have found your blog….following now:)

I recently discovered your blog (and am spending hours going through all your posts) and the spread in Martha Stewart of your fabulous home. I noticed in the article it says you used BM Classic Gray throughout. Is the wall color of your kitchen and dining room Classic Gray? And would you be willing to share our kitchen cabinet color? Your home is fabulous and I understand it is sold so I am eagerly anticipating your next renovation. Thank you!
Everything is so lovely, particularly fond of the french mantle and surround in your old bedroom…must have been hard to let it go. I do understand the excitement when looking for a new place to make your own however. xo
