One of the things Tom and I love doing is taking road
trips. And what a road trip we just
took! We drove all the way from DC to
Maine and back, and fortunately, traffic was a breeze both ways.
Following the southern coast of Maine, we
visited York, Ogunquit, Wells, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. Then we went up mid coast and explored Wiscasset, Boothbay and Camden. While the bustling
towns were fun, we quickly veered off and sought quieter neighborhoods, historic villages, less touristy towns and “Old Maine.” Among some of
our favorites were Old York, Bath and East Boothbay.

Maine was breathtakingly beautiful with the
sea, lakes, estuaries, hills, meadows and farmland. We loved the bold, rugged and rocky
shoreline. But the peaceful wildflower meadows
were equally delightful. Enjoy these
photos. More to come in a future post.

The hauntingly bleak but beautiful Olson House in Cushing. You may be familiar with this house as it was depicted many times by the artist Andrew Wyeth. I will post more on Andrew Wyeth and this home, which is now a museum.
The soft color palette inside is very Scandinavian inspired. I love the blue painted walls.
Wildflower meadow with the St George River in the background.
While Ogunquit was touristy, the Marginal Walk along the coast was phenomenal. Below is the little Marginal Way Lighthouse.
Tom trying to figure out how to climb off the boulder??
Me moving my head out of the way so you can see the Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse in York.
The quintessential Maine white clapboard saltbox. We went searching all over for them, and here is an 18th century example. Pure, simple and unapologetic.
Two historic homes in Old York.
Lobster traps and fishing boats in the small coastal village of Cape Porpoise.
A white clapboard Neogothic (?) style church in charming Bath.
This shop in Wiscasset was closed. Sorry I forgot the name 🙁 It is what I call “high country.”
Of course we went to lobster shacks! Enjoying our lobster rolls on a picnic table – utterly delicious!!
I would love to live in East Boothbay. This was our favorite village, and below is this amazing 18th century saltbox with stables across the road.
ABOVE: A weather-beaten grand dame.
This house above is for sale. I wouldn’t mind all the work, but the site is not ideal. The arrangement of the oval windows is so special. And guess what? Right around the corner is the below house with similar oval windows.
Here is upscale and busy Camden. The harbor is so quaint.Have you been to Maine?
Cheers,
Loi

Oh my! These pictures are fabulous as usual, Loi! You seem to capture just the right light and just the right moment with all of your photos. On our last trip up the East Coast with my parents we sought out the Lighthouses…and the Nubble was our favorite! I so wish I had people here in the south that loved Saltbox style homes as much as I do! These are just beautiful! The one for sale with the "unusual" barn! To DIE for! The barn is spectacular! Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
You are so talented Loi! What an wonderful set of photographs. I love the color combination of the blue/green doors and the dark grey/brown of the buildings. Amazing. It looks like you guys had an awesome trip. Aren't road trips the best? Its impossible to travel and not get inspired. I can't wait to see the other posts. Thanks for another GREAT post.
So beautiful! Loi your pictures are gorgeous! Incredible landscape and architecture. What a road trip – so glad it was wonderful! take care, Robin
Fantastic trip Loi, I LOVED your photos and want to see Maine too! You have a great eye for capturing the interesting architecture of the Northeast. The little Marginal lighthouse is adorable.
Our friends were in Maine last year and happened to see Jamie Wyeth on a boat when they were visiting. A lot of your shots would be good inspirations for paintings! Glad you enjoyed your vacation! I love road trips, America has so many good ones, I have a bunch on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing with us!
I have not yet been to Maine, and now I see what I am missing! It looks idyllic, right down to the lobster rolls.
Maine was a total wonderful surprise to MC and me last summer. We loved all we saw. We had made plans to stay in Camden. We drove up the Coast from the airport in Boston to Camden. We stayed at the Camden Harbour Inn owned and operated by two very talented men from Holland. It was pricey, but fabulous! It was two nights that we will never be able to duplicate. The Inn was so well maintained and the staff were so welcoming and professional. The restaurant was one of the best we ever have been to. We drove inland a little, but we only had two days. BTW,did you see the Oreo Cows while in that area? We loved how clean and neat everyone keeps their properties. The pride of ownership was so apparent.
Your pictures are awesome. I enjoyed them all. Especially your head tilt!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR A WONDERFUL TOUR!
So glad you and Tom had a chance to get away! I love all of the pictures, it makes me want to go to Maine even more than I already do! And that house for sale…too bad it's not on a more ideal lot because it's beautiful! Welcome back, and know that I'll be picking your brain for where to stay when we do get the chance to head up that way!
Kat
I have always dreamt of going to Maine, the closest I ever got was Salem. So close and yet so far! I just feel I belong there and now, looking at your photos I know I must visit. Salt box houses speak to my heart. I've been drawing them since I was a child, haven't we all. Square box, door in the middle and windows either side with a white picket fence outside – perfect. Thanks so much for sharing your magical journey – love the head tilt!

I have visited parts of New England which were so beautiful, but not as far north as Maine. Maybe next time – it looks well worth a visit! I love the simplicity of those clapboard saltbox houses. x Sharon
Loi your photographs are fabulous. The quality of light in this area is wonderful, it looks as if everything has been washed clean by the elements. I have never been to the US and sadly probably never will, but ironically for an 'Old Englander' New England really appeals to me. In a country with so much land available people have been able to build on a larger scale lending a stately magnificence to the architecture, but with a beautiful simplicity of form, just perfection.
Ps You are a lot more sensible than I am I would have had to buy the house shaded by the tree for the windows alone.
Dear Susan – We'd love to have you come across the pond for a visit 🙂 Talk soon, Loi
Hi Loi, gorgeous photos – you really captured the essence of Maine perfectly. Your picture of the ocean off the Marginal Walk could be a painting. Looking forward to seeing more!
xo,
Phyllis
Hello Loi, Of all these great photographs, I think my favorite is the arcaded stables. I would love to see that building from the inside–carriage houses and stables are often quite grand. Those Greek Revival near-twins with the round windows are quite unusual–I can't recall seeing anything quite like them.
Hi, Jim – I thought it was a barn, but you are right: looks more like stables! All those doors and hitching posts….makes perfect sense. Thanks so much. L
Absolutely gorgeous – I am totally in LOVE with these clapboard houses! They are so simple and yet incredibly elegant. As you know I am a big fan of classical symmetry in architecture (reminds me of Hill House!), and the combination of that and such natural colours and textures is just out of this world. Maine and New England has now very definitely gone to the top of my 'Must Visit…' list!

Quante belle fotografie, mi piacciono le case tutte bianche!! felice inizio settimana a te…ciao
Hello Loi – I think that I would recognise one of your elegant posts anywhere, you always compliment and enhance your pale grey background beautifully.
Some very fine architectural details in Maine. I am attracted to the distressed blue door in Wiscasset with the Georgian style fanlight above it. Clapboard churches are a new and interesting architectural revelation to me.
Wow Loi,
You've really captured my interest this time. I love, love, love Maine, and am leaving Thursday to visit friends there. Usually, visits are for garden and home tours, but this time my friend, also a Wyeth lover, has a Wyeth tour in mind. She herself is an accomplished artist so can't wait to experience it all, including lobster rolls. (Have you ever been to Acadia's Thuya garden. It is paradise on earth with a harbor below.)
Thanks for your photos. You have whetted my appetite for days to come.
b
What a beautiful trip you took! Isn't it great to get away every now and then!
Beautiful pictures as always, thanks for sharing!
Happy Monday!
Loi-
I have given up on keeping up with my favorites on your posts. There is always so much beauty, and this post is just perfect.
I LOVE the shingles, the turquoise front door, the architecture on the buildings and homes, the water, and the lobster rolls (jealous.)
How did Tom get down off of the boulder, lol?
Happy Monday.
Teresa
xoxo
so beautiful, love your photographs. Janet from JCB recently moved to YORK with her husband! Did you see them?
I've never been to Maine, and I have it on my list. Your post has made me want to move it up to the top of the list! It's amazing. Incredible photos as always!
Maine is one of our favorite vacation spots and these images are gorgeous!! Is there anything more fun that hitting the lobster shacks, and the Camden harbor is just amazing – love seeing all of your sites ~
Oh, these are sooooooo amazing! Thank you so much for sharing! I love all of this!–those old homes and all of the colors and images you captured so beautifully! I am also back from my weekend with some eerily similar photos taken in Rhode Island of young males climbing rocks, trees, (well, one astonishing tree in Newport!) walking precariously close to 40 foot cliffs which drop into a wildly churning ocean. Not for the faint of heart! But also some beautiful old homes especially in my fave burg, Stonington, CT. I'll post later! xo ~ Laurel
We've yet to travel there.. and now I feel I need to plan a trip! Wonderful pictures Loi! The ocean view is breath-taking and I love the wild flowers. The architecture is beautiful.. I love the soft grey and blue. How fun to enjoy the lobster rolls! They look delicious! I know this sounds strange but I like the smell of a ship yard.. I think it's the salt in the air and the fish. Enjoy the start to a new week!
xx

So beautiful! we had a shoot there (during my production days) + then went to a wedding in Maine, fell in love with it. Your photographs had me falling all over again. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Loi,
Your photos are magical. I have always wanted to visit Maine and these photos are so inspiring. Thank you for sharing these images.
Liz
I am married to a residential architect, so guess what? I love old houses, old furniture, etc. I love the originality of each one. I have never been to Maine but it is all beautiful; thanks for posting and sharing the pics.
Hi, Loi,
Your photos broght back many happy memories of childhood summers spent in Maine, especially that rocky shoreline! So many of the images make me want to get out my paints and do my very own Wyeth. That blue Wiscasset door is phenominal, and I am attracted to those oval windows — one seldom sees a row of them like that.
Welcome back, Mark
Hello Loi:
What fun you sound to have had exploring these hidden corners of Maine and what glorious treasures you discovered. The saltbox houses are simply elegant and one can well imagine that the interiors could lend themselves effortlessly to a number of complementary styles. The house for sale would definitely be a temptation for us too, we are instantly attracted to the distressed and the oval windows are truly charming. One can imagine that the interior is flooded with light by them.
Your photographs have captured the spirit of the places beautifully. Indeed, we could almost taste the lobster. Lovely!
here i am breathing prairie infused air in the landlocked heartland being escorted through beautiful maine. thank you for this. the white church!!! the timelessness. the rocky coast. the lobster. that unusual barn. i am inhaling it all.
best to you.
michele
You DID bring Tom back, right?!?!? So many lighthouses are "For Sale"….now, wouldn't that be fun to decorate?! franki
Yes, yes…he came back with me 🙂 Just had an idea: buy a lighthouse and convert to a B&B!!
Beautiful, beautiful photos, Loi! It looks like you and Tom had a wonderful time.
Maine is one of my favorite states. And the food – well, I can smell the sea salt and the lobsters steaming along the road as I write.
Hugs and best wishes.
I have made that same road trip when visiting family in NH! Always reminds me of a line from "Sarah, plain and tall" gray, blue, green……the colors of the sea! Missing me some lobstah rolls! Great post!
Cindy
each photo like a painting. No wonder it provided so much inspiration for Wyeth. That coast is surreal
Wow! Great pix-just beautiful.
Love that turquoise on that front door; the Saltbox homes with white clapboards; the boats in the harbor…and those cool lighthouses. It's all gorgeous.
I grew up on Long Island, and first went to Maine as a teenager.
First time I ever had lobster was on the coast at a clambake 🙂
I totally understand why artists love the area-even the light is incredible.
Glad you and Tom had such a fun road trip!
Oh my gosh! What a heavenly place!!! I love the old houses!! Beautiful!!! I so enjoyed this post!!!
Thank you for sharing Loi!!
Have a great new week!
xx
Greet
Beautiful photos, Loi. They've really inspired me to visit Maine. I grew up in the Northeast, and we vacationed in New Hampshire and Vermont, but I can't recall that we ever visited Maine. I think my husband would really love it up there. He's a fly fisherman and I think he'd have a blast with the fishing up there. I must plan a trip for next fall! Thanks for sharing your lovely photographs.
Claudia
Maine is so beautiful, I had forgotten. Thank you. Mary
Ola, que lugar maravilhoso, quero comprar essa casa pra mim.Linda.
Tenha uma ótima semana.
Sounds like you had quite the excursion. I love the faded blue color on the shop doors in Wiscasset, and that charming barn with the rounded doors in East Boothbay. And by the way….what FUN names these little hamlets have. The sea views are gorgeous and of course any trip that includes a stop for Lobster rolls is A-OK in my book.
Terri
Loi, we have Maine in common too! (: (I spent 1 year as a young, happy aupair at Sugarloaf!. Life changing!).
Beautiful pictures. Next time you and Tom go, let me tag along. I have wolfed down a few of those Maine lobsters! Ha!
ox, Mon
P.S Loved your post on Swedish clocks!
Loi,
I have never been to Maine but you've really made me want to add it to the list. Such beautiful photographs and the ocean scene of Ogunquit was book-worthy. We love road trips too and our favorite is to drive 101 up the west coast of California. Thanks for this great tour. I'm a huge fan of Andrew Wyeth and look forward to a post about him and his house.
Karen
Loi,
I tried commenting last night and Blogger just wasn't cooperating and then **poof** today it was purged from my memory.
I don't know how long your road trip was but I'm amazed by how much ground you covered. You certainly hit many places that I've never seen before. Perhaps I need to get off the beaten path a little bit more. I love the Greek Revivals with the oval windows. I've seen similar houses with rectangular windows but never the ovals and typically not in New England. I imagine those windows are pretty much just above the floor on the second level. I always find those low windows really charming in an old house.
These images are just amazing! Gorgeous. Georgeous! I hope we get to see more from trip.
Steve
The only US state I have visited is Florida (not my choice!) and I didn't even see the best parts of that!! My dream has always been to visit Maine (and Marthas Vineyard). Through your lens I have had a fleeting glimpse today – thank you. Those clapboard buildings pull at my heart strings as if I were a native 🙂
Hi Caspar – Where are you? In England, Australia, Canada? Thanks for reading my blog 🙂 Loi
Moray Firth coast Scotland UK. We do have beautiful landscapes and a few interesting lighthouses but not many clapboard gems! 🙂
Oh I miss Maine so much, I grew up in MA going to our ME cottage in York, then my dad sold that and built a cottage in Ogunquit right in Perkins Cove. My husband and I got married in a beautiful church in York and took one of the trollies to our reception at Clay Hill farm in Ogunquit. I miss NE so much as we now live in WA state, but because we go to the Cape every summer we always go to Maine to visit…thanks so much for sharing your trip, just beautiful.
Hi Loi, what a lovely trip. The scenery and architecture is gorgeous. I'm jealous of all that yummy Lobster you ate!!! Thanks for sharing your photos. Jx
Beautiful photos… a lot of natural beauty there! We made it as far north as Rockport and Gloucester, MA over the summer — really enjoyed the scenery (and lobster rolls) too. Someday I'd love to visit Maine and and then north to the Bay of Fundy to see the tides.
Holy hot sites Batman! Love the simple white saltbox…with the grave stone beside! Yikes, not far to your own private cemetery apparently;) Also, loved the stables( I think?) across from the general store. Gorgeous post Loi!
Definitely stables, Brenda. Couple people commented about that building….makes perfect sense with the hitching posts. Thanks! Loi
p.s. I don't know if you were looking for the name of the shop in Wiscasset… but do you remember if it was The Marston House, an antiques shop?
http://www.marstonhouse.com/
Hi Diane – Yes, I think you are right! Thanks so much. I will add the name in my post. Cheers, Loi
I have never been to this part of the country and would love to go. It looks beautiful. Love your photos of these beautiful homes.
Maine is beautiful, actually whole New England is beautiful, there is no place on earth like that. I have not been to Maine for quite some time. WHen we lived in Boston, during summer we would drive to Maine just to have lunch.
Your photography is excellent, I recognized the Olson house 🙂 thanks for sharing.
Best wishes
Bonjour Loi!
If you love the rocky and rugged coast of Maine, you would also love our rocky coastline back home in Big Sur on the Monterey Peninsula. It's also spectacular! Looks like you had a great trip!
Sarah
Loi,
What a wonderful trip! I would love to hear more, how long was the ride, what was your route? Was this a holiday or work relates( sorry I am curious)? I would love to know what wonderful places you stayed and what great places you found.
My husband has been talking of us taking the same trip to Maine but we have yet to find the time. He was there a few weeks ago for work and mentioned that the bigger towns were a bit of a disappointment, only because he was looking for the "quaint" Maine you seem to have found. As I said, I would love to hear more of your adventure, did you find some hidden gems off the beatin path?
I am so looking forward to Fall, Summer and the heat and humidity get me down. Today I actually felt a little cool air and in fact just opened the windows to catch the breeze.
I hope you have a fabulous day! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful adventure, your images and perspective put a huge smile on my face. There is so much beauty in the ordinary as they say.
Elizabeth
Beautiful post Loi. Your photography brings the right perspective to it all ….loved the salt box and stables, perfect in there simplicity. I have always imagined Maine to offer many beautiful vistas as well as architectural beauty, after all Martha Stewart has her summer home there I believe! It must be far from ordinary! I have never visited Maine but hope to someday! N.xo
I'm saving this post so I can plan my own Maine trip one day!
It looks like you had an inspiring time.
Love those oval windows. I think I need at least one at Patina Farm.
Now, where do I put my lighthouse? LOL…
Thank you for another beautiful post.
Oh, and thank you for including my clock in your last post! I love tall Swedish clocks. I keep selling them out of my house. I think I need to buy another one. Hmm… I wonder what you have in your shop….
xo
Brooke
Loi,
I am speechless over this amazing journey and your stunning photography! I have yet to visit Maine and though I've heard such wonderful things about this northern most states, I now want to shadow your journey. It truly looks amazing!!!
xoxo Elizabeth
Loi, your blog is becoming my absolute favorite! Each of your posts is so lovely. Wish I could see the world through your eyes!
xx
Beth
Welcome Beth – Thank you kindly! I appreciate your visits 🙂 Loi
hi Loi, Looks like you had a wonderful visit, I'm so glad! We were just talking about what we should do tomorrow (we need a break from yard work;) and Maine was mentioned! I hope you made it to Snug Harbor Farm? Wish I would have known you were coming- you could have popped in for a visit- we are only an hour and a half away from York! Looks like lunch was at Red's?!
best,
joan
Stunningly beautiful, Loi, every single image! What a fabulous adventure…
Those turquoise doors! Oh!
I have always felt a special connection to this architecture…this part of the country. Thank you so much for sharing your very special trip with us. Breathtaking beauty.
I am so glad you enjoyed the fair 😉 Help yourself to a cheese curd, please! I would not have the patience either, (nor do I have the dexterity), for such brilliant miniatures. But thank goodness there are talented people out there who grace us with these lovelies…
Have a beautiful week, dear Loi!
xoxo,
– Irina
Oh, how I love Maine! Especilaly Midcoast Maine. I have 20 summers worth of memories there. It's a beauty lover's heaven! It was fun for me to see your photos because I recognized several of the places! Your blog and design work is fabulous, by the way!
I can smell the pines and feel the salt spray.
Loi, This post is beautiful! What kind of camera took these pics? i loved every bit of this! The copy, photos and seeing it through your eyes!! By the way, thank you again for voting for me!!! You are the best!!!
WOW WOW WOW!!! I have always wanted to explore this part of the country… thanks to you I have fabulous pics to show my husband!!!
I'm sure you both sniffed out the best spots and the perfect landmarks – these images are so dreamy!! Thanks for the eye candy Loi!
Best wishes my friend!

Just Beautiful!
Your photos captured the honest simplicity of the area. I've always wanted to see this part of the country and it's exactly how I imagined! Thanks for the tour! ~Delores
Wow, what a fabulous road trip, and photos too!
Looks like such an attractive area to visit.
I love the clapboard houses.
Hope you have a lovely week,
Lizc
I thoroughly enjoyed your trip report Loi, the Marginal Walk looks very exhilarating I love the wildness of your ocean image and the name of that lighthouse.
Glad you had a great trip Loi…the photographs are all breathtakingly charming. Would love a trip to Maine! The lobster rolls look delicious as well!
Loi, your photography always transforms me to a lovely place where I can ride along with you and Tom on your adventures. What a great trip! Thanks for all of the beautiful pictures. Glad you had such a delightful trip (oh-that lobster!!).
Loi, Nice road trip! Wow! So picturesque. Love the Salt Box houses and there is something about those blue doors…perhaps it's how you photograph them! All of the images are wonderful, of course! The lighthouses are cool…each has a different personality. You look great by the way. Love your tours. Monica
I love Maine too and you certainly captured all of it's beauty with your stunning photographs.
Now, I want to paint it all…..
Enjoy your day.

Oh Loi – FABULOUS POST! I've always wanted to go to this area and now I feel like I have! It all looks SO beautiful. I love the photo of you and lovely to meet Tom aswell 🙂 Looks like you both had a wonderful trip!

Hi Loi,
What beautiful photos! I feel like I was there enjoying it all with you.
I am dying to know what the listing price was on the house that needed some tender loving care. It needs you to bring it back to life!
Cheers,
Cynthia
Hi Loi,
Thanks for your lovely comment. My eyes are doing much better now.
I have bought two Gustavian chairs this week and I am so in love with them. I just made a post on them today. I think you might like them too.
xoxo Rozmeen
Thanks for sharing your trip, Loi. I think I need a saltbox in Old York. Gorgeous.
XO, Victoria
Breathtaking photos Loi…nice to meet you and Tom! You are tempting me with the house for sale, I adore that style of house and the calm colour scheme of this place is simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing your trip!
Have a great weekend

This post tugs at my heart. We used to travel to Maine (all of the places you have mentioned) twice a year when I had my antiques business. We would start in Boston. We haven't been in ages..I wonder if Le Garage is still in Wiscasset? They used to have fabulous food! I am so jealous! And I miss those lobster rolls. We would eat lobster non stop from the beginning of the trip to the end!
Loi, there are no words to use that have not already been expressed already, but I wanted to chime in to say that I loved these images and post as well. I hope you didn't leave poor Tom still looking for a way off the rocks! haha.
Oh, and the swedish clocks……..I so want one!
Kind Regards, Valerie
http://www.valeriedowdy.com
Loi, You're making me want to go on vacation! Maine has been on my "to-go" list for a long time. Your photos are gorgeous!
Keri
Wish I had known you were passing through. We are up in Boston. Next time!
Simply a wonderful post with beautiful and stunning images!
Found your blog via Debra and love it! Finally a blog showing GOOD interior with authentic pieces and not endlessly 'chabby chic'…..It seems to me that we have the same passion for jars and pots…??..Swedish and country antiques with a certain 'elegance'. All your posts and images are just brilliant! What a pleasure to see something so good!
If you found a minute or two to visit my blog you might like to see the post I wrote a few month ago about one of my English dealer friends who specialized in Swedish antiques

Very happy to found your blog and I'm looking forward to your next post and future posts.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
greetings from a German antique dealer, living in the Périgord,
Karin
p.s. Sorry for my English 🙁
Lovely to see your post about my home state of Maine!
Please keep me on your "contact log" for new Mora clock arrivals.
Wonderful blog – – – and Pinterest, as well
Stunning photos! If this whole antique thing doesn't work out, I think you could easily be a photographer (or writer!). I loved every photo and wish I could see all those places some day. Love the oval windows, and can't wait to hear more about the Andrew Wyeth museum. I love his work and fell in love with one of his paintings at the National Gallery of Art in DC (a painting with curtains blowing…not sure what it is called). That blue wall was dreamy…
xo Terri
😀
Lovely place!
Hello Loi Thai
You deserve a big compliment, your pictures are really nice
I will follow you blog from now on.
Greetings from Holland, Joop
Gorgeous photos!!! I was especially thrilled to get a glimpse of the Olson house and read your mention of Andrew Wyeth house–so so lovely. I have a few prints of his sketches around my house, and a few books too. Your description of the house as "hauntingly bleak" is a perfect description of some of my favorite Wyeth works too. Seeing it your in photographs helps me understand those works a bit more. Lovely, lovely post!
nothing short of breath-taking. the olsen house is beautiful.
enjoyed these very much, loi. donna
A quick trip to Boston for work & then home is the extent of my travels to this beautiful part of your world. We are such a young country by comparison dear Loi, so we just don't have the historic architecture. It was lovely pouring over your wonderful images, thank you.
Millie xx
Now I want to go to Maine.
Sigh…so much to do!
Beautiful photos…you guys know how to do a road trip right!
🙂
Well hell…there were a lot of comments here…but I did get my question answered because I was wondering is Tom was still standing on those rocks! There are so many beautiful places to visit in this country of ours…this just reminded me that I do not need to go across the pond to see beauty…..
