With spring now here in DC, I am reminded of a delightful garden visit last year. Cothay Manor, hidden in rural Somerset, England, dates to the 15th Cen. The 12 acres of gardens are divided into seven rooms by a central yew walk (hedges). Each enclosed garden room features a different theme: bishop’s room, cherry garden, unicorn walk, etc. This is one of the reasons I fell in love with Cothay. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I was able to enjoy, on an intimate scale, each “themed” room.
Lucky you! Seriously, that looks like a slice of heaven. I especially love the lavender. I planted it for the first time last spring. Love!
Love it also! Just like heaven!
That is just my dream garden- how charming! Love the old stonework too.
Glorious gardens! What a treat to visit such a lovely place. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos with us.
This is amazing! I am so glad you gave me your link! I have adored your postings on Pinterest. I just started blogging too:-) I love where you live. I used to work at the National Gallery of Art and lived in the District. I used to love playing softball on the mall! Your antiques are so well edited! I look forward to many more posts! Best, Kathleen
Wow! Such beautiful lush gardens.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Loi! I'm so glad you started blogging, can't wait to see more. Beautiful gardens but I'm really in love with the stonework in the actual house. When it comes to gardens, I don't know if I could be creative enough to come up with themes but I sure enjoy someone's handiwork! -Ann
Lo…I have been in Italy without internet access. So glad I could view your beautiful blog….love, love, love all your garden inspiration…I am pinning away on pinterest!!
Greetings Loi! These images are incredible. This is not a garden I have ever visited, but I’m keen to see it now! That stream of nepeta is superb.
Ahh!! Take me away. This place is a dream!
I've just found your beautiful blog and am so happy I did!

You go to the coolest places! The image looking down the tree lined path with the urn in the middle…so beautiful.
